Term 2, Week 8

Two weeks to go of what has been another busy term.  This week is NAIDOC Week at school where we acknowledge our indigenous people and their culture.  A note came home from school during the week about products that the SRC representatives will be selling to help raise money for Koori Kids, who provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Children.  Please have another look at the email and see how you can help.

Thank you to the families in K/1R, 3G and 3F who provided a fantastic afternoon tea on Friday afternoon.  They raised a wonderful $1554.25 which will go towards classroom resources across the entire school.  Thank you to everyone who stayed and enjoyed the treats!

We have a few positions that we are looking for some volunteers to step into.  Firstly we need a few more families to help with the school sign.  This is the sign board on the corner of Holly and Kendall Rd that is changed weekly.  Currently this job is looked after by two families and we would like a few more to join in the roster to lighten the load.  If you are able to help could you contact Julie Greening via email (click here).

We are also looking for someone to take up the position of secretary on the P&C committee.  A big thank Sam Edwards who has been in this position for the past few years and has had to step down.  The job involves coming along to P&C meetings to take the minutes and circulating them within the P&C committee members after the meeting.  Please respond to this email if you are interested or would just like some more information.

Finally we are also looking for someone to look after notices on the smaller school notice boards that are within the school grounds.  This job is requires around 20 minutes of time every 2nd week just to go around the noticeboards and remove out of date messages and put up any new ones.  Again please drop me an email if you can help with this small job.

I will be in touch again this week with some more information about next weeks Year 6 Fundraiser Event.
