Term 4 Week 3

What a brilliant afternoon we have had enjoying our mini Jazzfest event this afternoon at school! We could not have asked for more perfect weather or a better turn out from families both present and past. Special thanks to the wonderful team who pulled the event together headed up by Sarah Joyce, Alison Drill, Sue Opie, & Jacinta Gill along with the numerous volunteers who helped with setting up, selling and cooking and the clean up, assisting the year 2 try outs and many other behind the scenes jobs. All bands sounded amazing and it was great for them to be able to perform to the community in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.

We would also like to give you an update on the current progress with our P&C Fundraising after a few more successful events in the past weeks. Our disco in week one this term raised a total of $1,400, and now that all money has been collected for the Fun Run we can announced that a total of $5,100 was raised by the children who took on the challenge of raising sponsorship money. The prize for the highest fundraiser will be announced in assembly on Monday afternoon.

This brings our current fundraising total for the year to $125,700. We are still to calculate the total from our Calendar drive, we also have two more afternoon tea stalls to go plus our annual yearbook will go on sale shortly. We hope you will continue to support our fundraising efforts with these last few events so we can come close to our targeted amount of $152,000.

I am putting together a small focus group to come up with some new ideas for our 2015 fundraising and would love to hear from anyone who is keen to be part of this group. Please drop me an email and I will let you know when we are meeting.

This Tuesday our Senior Students will be holding their annual Pedlars Parade – if you still have items you would like to donate please drop them in the admin building foyer on Monday and remember to ask children to bring their money to hand to teachers so they can participate in purchasing items on Tuesday.
